iPad 2 at Toys R US

The latest to join the list of iPad 2 distributors in US is the Toys R Us store. The tab is not available at all the store locations yet, you can find out more here. This move highlights the iPad 2′s popularity and ease of use by a much younger audience. Great for gaming and educational apps, the iPad 2 is expected to sell like hot cakes at Toys R Us just the same as other locations within and outside US.

Toys R Us have taken the liberty of changing the imperial iPad 2 font to a more kid friendly Comic Sans in blue color. Wonder if this will incur the wrath of the Apple police? Fortunately, they’ve not messed with the “Thinner. Lighter. Faster. FaceTime. Smart Covers. 10-hour battery” message. Parents had better prepare themselves for their next trip to Toys R Us as the iPad 2 arrives at 100 locations across US. They may have to shell out $500-$800 or be super resistant to cajoling and tantrums. Unless of course, you’ve been eyeing it yourself.
The iPad 2 is selling at Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Verizon, AT&T, and Radio Shack apart from the Apple Store. Sales of the iPad 2 have slowed down only because of shortage in supply and Apple is doing everything to replenish stores across the world. According to recent rumors stemming from Everlight, a Taiwanese manufacturer of LED-based products, Apple is looking for new component makers to increase production. Their products have been sent to Apple for testing.

According to estimates, 45 million iPad 2 units will be sold in 2011. This won’t be a surprise at all seeing how 1 million of the tabs sold on the first day of launch in US. Hopefully, a new manufacturer will also help solve the bleeding LED problem seen on some iPad 2 units.

Apple executives should be a happy lot with the way things are going. The iPad 2 is way ahead of competition in terms of sale and it has even got top marks in performance tests by technical experts.

If you haven’t got your hands on the iPad 2 yet, head over to the nearest Toys R Us store and grab one before it’s all gone.
